Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies has warned potential bidders that it will require an exceptional offer to prise forward Colin Nish away from the club before the transfer window closes.
The 26-year-old has so far refused to sign a new contract with Killie and has been linked with a number of other clubs, including Hibernian.
However, Jefferies told The Scotsman: "I've not had any offers, but I've had plenty of people telling me they are going to speak to his agent.
"If there is anybody out there thinking that we are going to let him go prior to the transfer deadline because he is out of contract at the end of the season and we are going to let him go for some paltry figure of £30,000, £40,000 or £50,000, it's a no-goer.
"I would rather keep the player for two reasons. I'm not going to see the money anyway and we need the player more than the money, unless it's something really, really exceptional."
Nish has been with Killie since the summer of 2003 and has scored 46 goals in 161 appearances.
