Jefferies talks up Pascali

Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies was full of praise for recent signing Manuel Pascali after he netted the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Hamilton Academical.

The 26-year-old Italian headed home from Mehdi Taouil's corner right on the stroke of half-time, while also impressing Jefferies with his all-round commitment.

The Killie boss said: "One of our problems last year was we needed a bit of edge, dig and steel in the middle of the park. He provides that.

"He has got composure when he is on the ball and he doesn't waste very many balls. But when there's a ball to be won, he invariably wins it.

"Another great asset is he is very good in the air."
