Jefferies' spot-kick horror
12 Feb 2007 - 14:13:32
Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies blasted the referee's decision to award two penalties to Rangers as his side crashed to a contentious 3-1 defeat at Rugby Park.
The former Bradford City and Hearts manager was particularly incensed when referee Dougie McDonald awarded a spot-kick for Simon Ford's challenge on former Killie star Kris Boyd.
"I was angered by both penalties but obviously more with the first one," said Jefferies.
"We tried to keep it tight and they are a difficult team to beat without being given things pretty easily.
"I was stunned when the first penalty was given. I didn't see any reaction from the Rangers players to claim for it.
"The second one was an old-fashioned shoulder charge from James Fowler. Some are given some are not, it just so happens that it was given."
