Jim Jefferies set his sights on a new target after sealing their place in the SPL top six with a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday.[LNB] Winger Suso Santana's 32nd-minute strike from the edge of the box was the difference between the sides as Kilmarnock's relegation concerns intensified at Tynecastle[LNB]With a European berth taken away from finishing fifth in the SPL due to First Division side Ross County reaching the Active Nation Scottish Cup final, Jefferies insists they are out to close the six-point gap on city rivals Hibernian.[LNB]Jefferies, whose side face Rangers at Ibrox next Sunday and have three games at home after the split, said: "Now we become the hunter, it's a situation with five games left that we've closed the gap. "Fifth place was taken away. Six points is a big advantage but we've still got to play them. There is no pressure on us but we want to get there.[LNB]"It gives us something to challenge for, the remit was to get into the top six; we achieved that and now the target is different.[LNB]"We know we can catch the teams above us and we'll try and do that."[LNB]Jefferies sat down with banker Romanov for talks on Friday for the first time since being appointed manager at the tail-end of January and insists he was enthused by what the majority shareholder had to say over the future direction of the club.[LNB]He added: "I gave him my thoughts and he was very receptive.[LNB]"I know what his ideas are for taking us forward. I think they have changed a little bit, he has come out and said that himself.[LNB]"Hopefully we can work together and he trusts me to build a side for two reasons; firstly to get success but at the same time knowing people move on and we can get the club a bit of money. "There is nothing wrong with that, that's what we did the last time."[LNB]Meanwhile, crestfallen Kilmarnock manager Jimmy Calderwood, whose side are just one point ahead of basement outfit Falkirk, insists the players are too nice to each other after watching them fall to their 11th defeat on the road.[LNB]He said: "In this game you have to earn the right to win a football game and we never did that. "We've got three away games after the split and you can't be confident (of staying up) unless you get that right.[LNB]"That's got to come within; a will to win, getting on to people if they're not doing their jobs, that kind of thing.[LNB]"They're too nice at each other. The good teams will get on at each and shout at each other. The personnel is there, it's the hunger and desire. We might be too nice."[LNB]
