Invincibile handed Killie trial

Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies has given a trial to the Australian striker Danny Invincibile.

The former Swindon Town star turned down a new contract offer at the County Ground but has now joined the rest of the Killie squad for their pre-season tour of Italy.

"I got a call asking if I would be interested. I'd seen him before and thought it would be a good idea to have a look at him," said Jefferies.

"It also gives him a chance to find out about us because I know he has one or two other clubs after him.

"It was all done at the last minute - he came up yesterday and joined in a training session with the rest of the lads.

"But it's difficult to judge someone on a single session so he has joined the rest of the squad on the trip and that means he will also have the benefit of taking part in a couple of training games."
