I'd take a dive, admits honest Kyle

The Killie striker knows such a move would lead to him being pilloried in the press but insists the end result would be worth the hassle.[LNB]The debate over diving is back in the headlines again after David Ngog won a dubious penalty to earn Liverpool a draw with Birmingham on Monday night.[LNB]Asked if he would resort to similar tactics to earn Scotland a spot at the World Cup or European Championships, Kyle replied with honestly and without hesitation.[LNB]"Of course I would," he said. "A lot has been made of diving and, to be perfectly honest, I don't know how to dive because I'm just not that kind of person.[LNB]"But, if it meant my team getting an advantage and a penalty? I would probably take the opportunity. I'm not going to lie, I'm an honest kind of person.[LNB]"I probably would because you go out on a Saturday afternoon just wanting your team to win at any cost and you take every opportunity that's available to you.[LNB]"Yes, you will get criticised and hounded by the press and slaughtered for doing it. But, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is your team getting a victory."[LNB]Kyle was also honest about his desire to use his call-up for this weekend's friendly in Wales to put himself in the shop window and earn a return to the Championship, where he still believes he has unfinished business.[LNB]He said: "I came to Kilmarnock just to get games under my belt and get my career back on track.[LNB]"That has happened and I've scored lots of goals and been rewarded with a call-up for the national team.[LNB]"I've got a short-term deal at Kilmarnock and, if I do well for Scotland, people will obviously be watching and I could maybe put myself in the shop window to go somewhere else.[LNB]"I'm a player who wants to play at the highest possible level that I can and I want to win things and achieve things.[LNB]"I've got that drive and ambition back now and I want to do the best that I possibly can. If I can do well for Scotland, then that's a great step and an added boost.[LNB]"I know that I had a bad time at Coventry in the Championship and I would like to get back there and prove that I was good enough.[LNB]"I'd like to go back there and prove a point and prove to myself that I am capable of going down to the Championship and scoring goals."[LNB]Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies used the possibility of a Scotland recall to tempt Kyle to sign for the Ayrshire club but the big striker admits he never believed it would happen until he received the call from George Burley.[LNB]"I probably didn't believe it would happen because when I left Coventry I was really low on confidence and wondering where my career was heading," he admitted.[LNB]"It was like the start of the freefall.[LNB]"I had to go somewhere where most weeks I was going to be given an opportunity to play 90 minutes and get my game back on track.[LNB]"Jim Jefferies said he would give me that and that he would get me back in the Scotland squad. I was like 'Just get me a game first and then we will see.'[LNB]"Now, I've got to thank Jim Jefferies because he has stuck to his word."[LNB]It was revealed at the weekend that Kilmarnock players called in the union after objecting to the club's implementation of stringent new disciplinary measures which could result in severe financial reprisals for yellow and red cards.[LNB]But Kyle insisted: "Morale is really good. We just seem to be getting the brunt of the headlines in the papers for all the wrong reasons.[LNB]"The boys accept the fines and stuff, we accept that if we do wrong we get fined and that's part and parcel of being a footballer.[LNB]"It's just the circumstances and the way it's happening that we're not happy about. We will get it resolved.[LNB]"The chairman spoke to me last night and we will get it sorted out and just get back to concentrating on playing football and getting points for Kilmarnock.[LNB]"All the boys are happy and the morale is good. We've got a really good set of boys at the club."[LNB][LNB] Wales 6/4, Scotland 6/4, Draw 9/4
