Thomas Hassler has ruled himself out of the running to be Kilmarnock's new manager.[LNB] Germany's World Cup and European Championship-winning former midfielder visited Rugby Park on Friday and held talks with Killie chairman Michael Johnston.[LNB]But Cologne assistant coach Hassler has decided to withdraw from the race, saying in the Scottish Sun: "It's correct I have been to Scotland to talk to the club and it was an interesting option.[LNB]"I was happy to speak to them but I can say for sure our talks won't go any further."[LNB]Hassler's snub is a second blow for Johnston, who failed to land number one target Steve Kean after being unable to agree compensation with Blackburn for their first-team coach.[LNB]Former Celtic coach Peter Grant and ex-Dundee boss Alex Rae are among a host of names to have been linked with the role left vacant when Jimmy Calderwood decided to walk away after his short-term contract expired.[LNB]
