Hamill strike surprised team-mates

Kilmarnock utility man Jamie Hamill revealed his own team-mates were surprised when he became the first player to net against Aberdeen this season in the 1-0 win at Pittodrie. Hamill's injury-time strike consigned the Dons to their first defeat of the season, and also saw Kilmarnock pick up their first points of the new campaign. The visitors had been on the back foot early on, but in truth could have been ahead long before Hamill's last-gasp winner. Hamill, who was playing at right-back, said: "I think we had a few good chances. We had good delivery from set-pieces and I had a chance as did David Silva. We managed to push Aberdeen back, which is always good when you're away from home. "I thought I was going to score with my chance before the goal. I played a one-two with Connor Sammon and hit it as hard as I could. I looked up to see the keeper touch it over the bar, and it was a great save from the `keeper."
