Hamill keen to bounce back against Bairns

Jim Jefferies' men were unfortunate only to take a point against SPL champions Rangers at Rugby Park last Saturday, but go into the game against the Bairns knowing defeat could mean swapping places with their opponents at the bottom of the table. Hamill, 23, is confident Killie can shrug off the midweek defeat by St Mirren in the third round of the Co-operative Insurance Cup to find their first three points since the opening-day win over Hamilton. "It's disappointing to go out of the cup but we are looking forward to getting back in the rhythm by playing Falkirk," the former Scotland Under-21 player said. "Every game is important but we obviously need to be beating teams like Falkirk, St Mirren and the others who are fighting with us to stay in the league. "So it's really important that we focus on our own game and try and get points home and away. "The performance against Hamilton in the first game of the season was really good and although we have had some good performances since, we haven't been able to get the results. "We are hoping to rectify and although we know it will be a tough game, hopefully we can go to Falkirk and take three points." Jefferies is once again looking at a lengthy list of absentees. "Craig Bryson had to come off at half-time with a groin injury against St Mirren and he is a doubt," he said. "Ford, Combe, Clancy and Burchill are still out and Manuel Pascali is suspended so you might find a couple of players on the bench who have been out for a long while. "Allan Russell had a cruciate injury but he's been training for a couple of weeks and so has James Fowler following his hernia operation. "They might have to come into contention especially if we have any more call-offs, and they might even be asked to play. "We have had those kind of injury problems over the last couple of years but we have to carry on. "We keep our fingers crossed that we don't have any more injuries."
