Hamill hails Paatelainen

Jamie Hamill believes the fighting spirit at Kilmarnock this season is all down to boss Mixu Paatelainen after they battled for a point at Hamilton in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Killie found themselves trailing to goals from Flavio Paixao and Nigel Hasselbaink after Accies dominated the first half at New Douglas Park on Saturday. There appeared to be no way back for the visitors but they emerged stronger after the break and hauled themselves back into the match through Hamill's penalty before Conor Sammon grabbed a late leveller. Kilmarnock could even have gone on to win the game and Hamill insists Paatelainen - who took over in the summer - deserves some credit for the mentality he has instilled in the team. He said: "The boys did really well in the second half after a disappointing first half, we usually play better than that. "We have shown good character to get back into the game and that's thanks to Kenny Shiels and the gaffer. They have brought a new lease of life into the changing room and we're really enjoying working under them."
