Jamie Hamill is hopeful his early-season goalscoring form can be the catalyst for his best season at Rugby Park yet.[LNB] Hamill scored a penalty on the opening day of the season at Ibrox and followed that by securing a last-minute win against Aberdeen win at Pittodrie.[LNB]The right-back netted twice against Hibernian to knock them out of the Co-operative Insurance Cup before netting another spot-kick against Hamilton as Killie fought back from 2-0 down to claim a point last weekend.[LNB]Hamill, whose team face SPL rivals Dundee United tomorrow, said: "Obviously it's good to get on the scoresheet especially at the start of the season.[LNB]"It helps your own performances if you can get confidence from a goal, so long may it continue."[LNB]The former Scotland Under-21 international is one of several players to have been handed a new lease of life under manager Mixu Paatelainen and his assistant Kenny Shiels.[LNB]Killie have lost one of their last six matches, their defeat coming after taking the lead against Celtic.[LNB]"I am enjoying it more, just because the way we are playing, there's a lot more football," Hamill said.[LNB]"Hopefully I can add a few more goals, I've always said I wanted to add goals to my game and hopefully this is the season."[LNB]However, it has not all been encouragement from the new management duo, who were very critical after Killie's first-half display at New Douglas Park last weekend.[LNB]And Hamill knows they will have to start better if they are to get a result at home to Scottish Cup holders United.[LNB]"A few boys got an earful and I was one of them," he said. "Obviously it was disappointing after having played so well and the gaffer and Kenny weren't too happy, so we go into Saturday and hope we can do better than that.[LNB]"I think you need that every now and then, and that's what pushed us on to come back, whereas last season we maybe would have gone on and lost a few more."[LNB]
