Fowler gives backing to Paatelainen

Kilmarnock's James Fowler has revealed the players maintain belief in Mixu Paatelainen's Rugby Park project despite some indifferent results.[LNB] Killie have drawn once and lost four times in the five matches since they knocked Hibernian out of the Co-operative Insurance Cup.[LNB]But Paatelainen has been generally content with the overall displays and his players are still enjoying his new way of playing following his summer arrival.[LNB]Killie take on in-form Hearts at Tynecastle on Sunday where they will come up against former boss Jim Jefferies, but Fowler is optimistic they can cause an upset.[LNB]"We have been playing well and creating chances, we've just maybe not scored at the right times and obviously we have been getting punished at the other end after one or two mistakes," Fowler said. "Hopefully we can get that right and get a result.[LNB]"You've got to keep believing. All the boys have bought into the gaffer's system and how we're trying to play.[LNB]"We've got to keep going and hopefully we will put things right and get the results.[LNB]"The formation is different from what we're used to, one up front and the two wide guys with an extra midfielder in there.[LNB]"It's different to the 4-4-2 we played previously but training is geared towards the new system and everyone knows what is expected of them.[LNB]"When I played earlier on in the season I had a bit more freedom in midfield.[LNB]"I enjoyed it, one of my attributes is having good legs and getting about the park rather than just sitting in. Three in midfield is a bit more fluid. Hopefully I can get back in and help the team."[LNB]As well as former boss Jefferies, Killie also come up against the man who captained them or much of last season, striker Kevin Kyle.[LNB]Kyle has settled in at Tynecastle after a knee injury disrupted his pre-season and he scored a typical diving header in the win at Aberdeen two weeks ago, before helping his new side to a 3-0 triumph over St Mirren.[LNB]"They had a great result last week and obviously big Kev has been scoring recently," Fowler said. "We know all about him and how dangerous he can be so we need to keep an eye on him.[LNB]"He'll be speaking to a few boys on Facebook and such like. He has always been a confident boy and I'm sure he'll be confident at the weekend. We're not going to take him lightly."
