Clancy return boosts Jefferies

Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies is delighted to have defender Tim Clancy back in action after a long-term ankle problem.

The 24-year-old Irishman has started in the last two games for Killie, having previously only featured twice during the first half of the current campaign.

Jefferies told the Kilmarnock Standard: "Tim came into the first team last season and settled in very well, but then he was unlucky when he picked up a bad ankle injury.

"This set him back and it's taken him some time to get back to full fitness.

"Maybe we were a bit unkind to him in that we played him in central defence in the reserves because of injuries to other players, for I have always thought his best position is at right-back."
