Clancy thinks Killie will find form

Tim Clancy is confident the freshness brought to Kilmarnock by Jimmy Calderwood is still strong enough to spark a revival in their season.[LNB] The Ayrshire side have lost six consecutive matches after an initial rejuvenation under Calderwood and his coaching team of Jimmy Nicholl and Sandy Clark.[LNB]However, Clancy does not feel they have performed badly in most of those defeats and is confident they can bounce back to form against Aberdeen at Rugby Park on Sunday.[LNB]The arrival of Calderwood spelled an end to internal strife between chairman Michael Johnston and the previous management team of Jim Jefferies and Billy Brown.[LNB]And Irishman Clancy feels Calderwood's honeymoon period has only been interrupted temporarily.[LNB]"Jim Jefferies and Billy Brown were here a long time," Clancy said.[LNB]"Obviously it was well documented what was happening at the club between the chairman and the management team.[LNB]"Don't get me wrong, every day they were 100% in training but you could see it was affecting them.[LNB]"With them leaving and a new management team coming in, everyone steps up training because they have got to improve and impress again.[LNB]"They brought different methods and exercises to training so it brings some freshness and gives everyone a boost."[LNB]Former Millwall player Clancy added: "We lost our first few games but we went seven games unbeaten when they got their methods of training going.[LNB]"We have lost the last six games but there were only two performances that weren't good enough, last week at Parkhead and at home to Hamilton.[LNB]"The other games, Hibs away and Motherwell away, we competed well and lost to a set-piece in both games.[LNB]"At home against Celtic and Rangers for an hour we competed really well but they ground it out.[LNB]"We're hoping to get back on track. It's in our hands, if we win the games we're capable of winning then we shouldn't have to worry about Falkirk."[LNB]Clancy has a potential Scottish Football Association disciplinary charge hanging over him after he clashed with Morten Rasmussen in Killie's Scottish Cup defeat by Celtic, but he is not letting the issue derail him.[LNB]"It's been referred to the video panel so I just have to wait and hear back," the 25-year-old said.[LNB]"I'll wait and see what happens. I don't really know much about it."[LNB]Killie will be without Craig Bryson for up to three weeks after the midfielder suffered a knee injury.[LNB]Calderwood said: "He's a massive loss. He's our captain and a very, very talented player."[LNB]Calderwood faces his former club for the second time and he has not written off their top-six hopes despite the Dons going on a run of 11 games without victory before Mark McGhee's men beat St Mirren last weekend.[LNB]"Mark was saying a few weeks ago that they are not going to be in the top six," Calderwood said.[LNB]"Now results have gone for them, but it's still a massive task. They have got to win their last three games.[LNB]"They have been on a horrendous run by their own standards, but I'm sure they will take a lift from that game last week."
