Calderwood wants a big finish to week

Killie recorded one of their most memorable victories of recent times when they beat Celtic in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on Tuesday night, their first win over the Hoops in nine years and 32 attempts.[LNB]But Calderwood believes all his side's good work could be undone if they become the victims of a shock defeat themselves when Inverness arrive at Rugby Park on Saturday.[LNB]The Killie boss said: "Hopefully we can finish this great week with a win against Inverness. But it won't be easy, it never is against Inverness.[LNB]"Inverness have a very shrewd management team in Terry Butcher and Maurice Malpas and they will be determined to take our scalp."[LNB]Calderwood is no stranger to cup upsets, having suffered more than one during his five years in charge of Aberdeen.[LNB]The 54-year-old is desperate to avoid a repeat of the kind of choker he suffered by losing to First Division Queen of the South two seasons ago.[LNB]"It was the worst moment in my career - as a manager and a player," he said of the Dons' semi-final defeat.[LNB]"It was terrible. Queen of the South just kept on coming back against us, we had so many bad performances from so many good players that day.[LNB]"I remember the trip back up to Aberdeen. It was horrendous. All the disappointed faces. I never want to go through that again."[LNB]Calderwood also tasted disappointment in the Scottish Cup while in charge of Dunfermline, losing the 2004 final to Celtic.[LNB]Calderwood's side went ahead that day but departing Hoops hero Henrik Larsson equalised before running out 3-1 winners.[LNB]"The script was written for Henrik Larsson that afternoon." said the Killie manager.[LNB]The script also seemed to be written for Robbie Keane to steal the show for Celtic on Tuesday night.[LNB]But in the end, Chris Maguire upstaged his fellow debutant by netting the winner for Killie.[LNB]"It's been a wonderful week," said Calderwood, whose side also drew 4-4 with Dundee United last weekend.[LNB]"When Robbie came to town on Tuesday night and we beat them, it was amazing.[LNB]"But I saw progress last Saturday and the stadium was rocking when we came back against Dundee United.[LNB]"United are a very good team and they will end up third or fourth the way they are playing, so I was delighted the character the boys showed.[LNB]"Not many teams will come back from 3-1 down to Dundee United."[LNB]Killie hitman Allan Russell is still sidelined with a thigh strain but, despite the frustration of missing out on the action, he has enjoyed their change of fortune.[LNB]He said: "The Celtic game was a great result, and as the gaffer said the other night, it's one that will stay with us, but now we have got a job to do and a massive game tomorrow.[LNB]"Inverness are always tough to play against but the boys are more than capable."[LNB][LNB][LNB]
