Calderwood has no sympathy for players

Kilmarnock manager Jimmy Calderwood has no sympathy for any of his players who are struggling to deal with the stress of a relegation battle.[LNB] Killie have lost six matches in a row, one a Scottish Cup defeat by Celtic, to leave them second bottom of the SPL ahead of Sunday's visit of Aberdeen.[LNB]The disappointing run followed an unbeaten seven-match stretch as Calderwood appeared to have turned around Killie's season following his arrival in January.[LNB]But he has warned his players that only they can steer themselves away from relegation trouble.[LNB]"It's their own stupid fault," Calderwood said. "They are the ones that have got to get it done.[LNB]"I'm not running away from responsibility myself, but players can get it sorted out.[LNB]"Nobody is too good to go down. We are a good team when we play and stick to basics, that's what got us the success in the beginning and we've got to get back to it.[LNB]"The victory is vital to get away from the bottom of the league."[LNB]Although most of the defeats have come against teams in the top half of the table, Calderwood felt let down by their recent home defeat by Hamilton.[LNB]He was also disappointed with their display in last Saturday's 3-1 defeat in Neil Lennon's first match as Celtic manager and he wants his players to atone against his former club.[LNB]"We've let our standards drop," Calderwood said. "I couldn't ask too much more from them when we had the run of games against Motherwell, Hibs, Rangers and Celtic, four of the top five.[LNB]"We were well in the games. So I can live with that, but the Hamilton game was very poor.[LNB]"They played really well but we were poor. The Celtic game was poor, obviously it was difficult with Neil coming in but we could have been blown away in five minutes. We started poorly and never really got any better.[LNB]"We've got none of the top five to play, it's all the teams round about us. it's all there for us. Hopefully we can finish strongly.[LNB]"We were a lot sharper at training on Friday and we expect a reaction."
