Bell learns from Scotland experience

Cameron Bell hopes his experience of training with Scotland team-mates Allan McGregor and Kenny Miller can help Kilmarnock beat Rangers.[LNB] After being called into the Scotland squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Spain, the Kilmarnock goalkeeper has taken on tips from Rangers counterpart McGregor.[LNB]The 24-year-old also got a useful insight into in-form Miller's finishing technique ahead of the Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter-final between Killie and Rangers at Rugby Park on Wednesday.[LNB]And Bell is now determined to stop Miller adding to his 14 goals this season as Rangers bid to make it the same number of matches unbeaten in all competitions this season.[LNB]"It gives me a wee edge," Bell said. "I've done shooting practice with him so I know what sort of finisher he is.[LNB]"He's obviously a good one, the hardest thing to do in football is score.[LNB]"It gives me a wee edge but our defence need to be tight.[LNB]"We can't afford to give him a free shot because of the form he is in at the moment. But hopefully tomorrow I can keep him out."[LNB]Bell was an unexpected addition to the Scotland squad due to an injury to Cardiff's David Marshall and fitness concerns over Craig Gordon and Matt Gilks.[LNB]"It was brilliant," Bell said. "The experience I got from training with Allan and Craig was massive for me at this stage of my career.[LNB]"To see how they prepare for games is massive and hopefully I can take some of that experience into my own game and make me a better goalkeeper.[LNB]"I worked closely with those two for a couple of weeks. There's not a massive difference in preparation but things like the positions they take up in certain situations made me think 'that's maybe a better thing to do'.[LNB]"They are small things but they can make a massive difference, and they obviously do as they are two of the top goalkeepers in Britain at the moment."[LNB]Rangers came from behind to win for the fifth time in the SPL when they beat Celtic on Sunday to extend their winning run to nine matches in the competition.[LNB]But despite their air of invincibility, Bell and his team-mates are optimistic of causing an upset.[LNB]Killie acquitted themselves well during a 2-1 defeat at Ibrox on the opening day of the season and have since added forward players Alexei Eremenko, Rui Miguel and Harry Forrester to their squad.[LNB]"We go into the game confident," Bell said. "It was always be a hard game against Rangers but we played so well at Ibrox and we feel we have kept that up since.[LNB]"We've been unlucky over the last few weeks. We need to cut out bad mistakes.[LNB]"We know a bad mistake will cost us, we have to make sure that doesn't happen because Rangers and Kenny Miller especially are on form at the moment.[LNB]"If you switch off for one minute, it can cost you the whole game."
