Final McGrath bid for Harriers

Kidderminster Harriers have made a final offer to Doncaster Rovers midfielder John McGrath and hope to tie a deal up for him this week.

McGrath has found it difficult to break into the League One side this season and Harriers boss Stuart Watkiss is hoping the lure of regular first-team football will entice him to Aggborough.

Kidderminster remain six points adrift of safety in the League Two relegation places despite a 2-1 win against play-off chasing Lincoln City on Saturday and Watkiss wants to bolster his squad further in the hope of avoiding the drop.

He told the Express & Star: "I have made John a final offer and we are waiting for his answer.

"We are not a million miles away now but we have to take a stance.

"I believe he is trying to negotiate some sort of settlement from Doncaster which will hopefully tip things in our favour."

He added: "The week after they signed him Michael McIndoe arrived from Yeovil and he's never had a chance to impress.

"But he has a left foot like a wand, has plenty of energy and can certainly put a foot in."
