Kettering face a difficult task if they are to retain their Conference status after a run of four straight defeats, according to defender Lee Howarth.
The Poppies suffered a 2-0 reverse at Hereford on Saturday and Howarth believes that the narrow defeat summed up their whole season.
"We've had a difficult run against five of the top six sides and we've come up a bit short, as we have all season," he admitted to the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph.
The result leaves Kettering 12 points away from safety with just ten games to play.
