Northampton Town have allowed Guy Branston to return to Peterborough United at the end of his loan spell at Sixfields.
The 36-year-old defender spent the last month with the Cobblers, but made only three starts for Stuart Gray's side.
"Guy came in and did a decent job for us for a month, but we've decided not to extend his loan with Brett Johnson now match fit," Gray told Town's official website.
"Brett wasn't fit at the time Guy arrived but since then he's recovered from injury.
"Andy Kirk won't be available for Saturday and Andy Holt is a major doubt after he took a knock to his ankle on Tuesday night. Fingers crossed he'll be okay. I'm not ruling him out totally.
"On a positive front we've got Jason Crowe and Dean Bowditch all back available again and they'll obviously all come into contention."
