We're having an amazing season, insists Conte

Juventus manager Antonio Conte baulked at suggestions his side should feel disappointed following their weekend draw at home to Chievo, leaving them three points behind leaders AC Milan.

Juventus can regain top spot -- by virtue of a better head-to-head record -- if they win in Bologna on Wednesday night.

They also remain unbeaten in the league, despite 12 draws from 25 games.

And following successive seventh placed finishes in the previous two campaigns, Conte insists that failing to win the title this term would not be a disaster.

"If someone wants to put their head in the sand so they cannot see all the good things we've done this season, then I'll pull them out by their hair," said Conte.

"Why do we need to be depressed given the amazing season we're having?

"We're thinking about giving everything, starting with me.

"We drew with Chievo but we gave everything and I thank my players because they always leave the pitch drenched in sweat.

"I would be more disappointed if we won but someone didn't come off sweaty.

"We'll see at the end of the season what our maximum is worth. Our opponents always give 150 percent against us so we can't have any regrets."

Juve are not without problems ahead of the trip to Bologna as centre-backs Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini have both been ruled out with injury meaning Conte will have to pick a makeshift central pairing.

"Unfortunately we've had two defensive injuries but we'll try to use that as an opportunity for whoever plays," said Conte.

"We need a show of force to substitute Barzagli and Chiellini, we'll have to look for compactness.

"(Stephan) Lichtsteiner, (Martin) Caceres, (Leonardo) Bonucci and (Paolo) De Ceglie will play and I'm sure they'll have a great game."

Juve have the best defence in the league but it is up front that they have often struggled -- they have only the sixth-best attack.

Only Alessandro Matri has hit double figures in the league and he's not even in the top 10 scorers in Serie A.

But Conte added: "The important thing is that someone scores, I make my choices based on who is most in form."
