France coach Raymond Domenech has left Juventus striker David Trezeguet out of his provisional 30-man Euro 2008 squad.

Trezeguet, 30, netted 20 Serie A goals for the Turin club this season and is a veteran of three World Cup and two European Championship campaigns.

The former Monaco striker also scored the winning goal for Les Blues in the Euro 2000 final against Italy.

"It's an organisational choice," said Domenech, who has handed a surprise call-up to St Etienne striker Bafetimbi Gomis

"There are four or five central strikers, you can't cram each position. You have to make choices.

"It's never easy to wake up having to cross names from a list."
