    Season over for Sissoko

    08 Mar 2009 - 16:19:12

Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious foot injury in the 1-0 derby win at Torino on Saturday evening.

The 24-year-old former Liverpool and Valencia man only came on as a late substitute in the Turin derby, but was on the pitch long enough to fracturing a metatarsal in his left foot.

A statement on the club's official website read: "During the league game against Torino, Mohamed Sissoko suffered an injury to his left foot which caused a fracture to his metatarsal.

"X-rays after the game showed that the fracture is to the fifth metatarsal and is a compound one.

"The treatment and recovery period will be evaluated in the next few days."
