Manchester United made a huge mistake by allowing Paul Pogba to leave the English champions on a free transfer for Italian champions Juventus. The Italian side snapped the French midfielder up on a free transfer after he failed to agree a new contract at Old Trafford.

His move to the Old Lady angered Sir Alex Ferguson and United fans by leaving Manchester on a bosman but the reasons for his departure where understandable. Pogba only made seven appearances for the Red Devils and when United’s midfield looked weak in Pogba’s strongest position, he was overlooked.

The 20 year old has built a strong working relationship with Juventus boss Antonio Conte as his move to Turin has proved a fantastic career change for the midfielder. Pogba alongside midfield maestro Andrea Pirlo have been the anchors of Juventus’ title winning seasons.

He is quick and responsive and has a tough approach to the game. He is quick and strong but also has flair in his game. His preferred position is defensive midfield but his technical ability means that he is more than capable of operating in an attacking midfield role. He has been compared to Manchester City powerhouse Yaya Toure but is considerably better with the ball at his feet.

The former Le Havre man has a wonderful range of passing and proved his importance at the Juventus Stadium at the heart of their midfield. As well as his quality passing, Pogba possesses a vicious right foot strike scoring plenty of goals to admire.

Pogba has the world at his feet and has already broke into the senior French national team. If he can continue his marvellous form, Pogba could be one of the best midfielders of his generation. With Manchester United shelling out £27.5m for Marouane Fellaini, things could have been a lot different if they gave Pogba the recognition he deserved.
