Italy national coach Marcello Lippi has suggested Juventus striker Amauri will not necessarily force his way into the World Cup squad on the power of his recent decision to take citizenship.
He has notched five times in 27 appearances for the Old Lady this term but the 29-year-old Brazil-born star has been warned not to expect a guaranteed place on the plane for the South Africa showpiece.
Speaking to reporters, Lippi said: "This does not mean that he will be certainly called up.
"He will be followed like all the other players.
"I am taking this month to evaluate and take decisions that have to be made exclusively for the good of the national team."
