Former Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata hit his old club where it hurts end their chances of retaining their title of champions of Europe.

It meant Italian champions Juventus had reached their first final since 2003, and they were worthy of their placing too.

After being released by Los Blancos in the summer Morata was hoping he would get more game time than he saw at the Bernabéu. Although he has seen a fair share of games this season, he has had to contend, along with Fernando Llorente, being an understudy to the season-long in form Carlos Tevez.

However the two were pair together for their first-leg triumph over Madrid in which Morata got the first goal. He predictable refrained from celebrating against his former employers however one must wonder if he was secretly smirking under the deadpan expression.

He then went onto do the unthinkable and ensure there would be new champions this year with an equalising goal to dump the all whites out of yet another semi-final. Written in the stars doesn't even come close!

It puts another nail into the coffin that is Real's sinking season. The pain must also be that much greater as the previous night arch-rivals Barcelona yet again stole the show against Bayern Munich and are proving to once again be a real force the footballing world should fear.

Where do the Spanish giants go from here. The fans are growing ever tired and are now physically showing their disdain as well as vocally, particularly towards their record signing Bale. The Welshman has been made a huge scapegoat my Spanish press and is struggling to win over a club he was so desperate to achieve things with. It is fickleness or well warranted, quite possibly both.

So the power has well and truly shifted to the Catalans and the black and white stripes are only to happy to take advantage. The real question now though is, can Tevez and co handle the torrid trio of magical Messi, super Suarez and neutralising Neymar, or will Luis Enrique's golden boys leave the world in awe?
