Napoli hitman Gonzalo Higuain has been left out of Argentina's latest squad with Juventus youngster Paulo Dybala preferred instead.

The 27-year-old former Real Madrid striker has scored four goals in five Serie A games for Napoli this season, but Argentina boss Gerardo Martino will not use him in two opening World Cup qualifying games against Ecuador and Paraguay.

Dybala, the 21-year-old who left Palermo to join Juve in the summer, receives a first call-up after notching two goals in his three league appearances for the Bianconeri.

Another new face in Martino's Albiceleste selection is River Plate defensive midfielder Matias Kranevitter, while forward Angel Correa of Atletico Madrid is included once again having made his senior international debut against Bolivia earlier this month.

Argentina host Ecuador in Buenos Aires on October 8 before facing Paraguay in Asuncion five days later.
