Juventus V Inter Milan: Match Preview

Juventus midfielder Leonardo Bonucci believes his side's extraordinary team spirit can sweep them closer to another Serie A title when they face Inter Milan in Turin on Sunday.

The league leaders head into the game on the back of an epic midweek Champions League draw with Bayern Munich, after which Bonucci's performance drew praise from Pep Guardiola.

His side have not lost since December's Champions League loss to Sevilla and Bonucci believes the performance against Bayern could have set the tone for the remainder of his side's season.

He told a press conference: "In these months, the entire mentality of the squad has changed.

"The youngsters and recent arrivals have understood the importance of pulling on the Juventus jersey, while us more experienced players have rolled up our sleeves and made it clear to the others that our displays in September and October simply weren't up to this club's standards.

"We've rediscovered the willingness to run through brick walls for one another. We're united and we also showed that on Tuesday, when, especially in the first half, the strikers chased back and, in doing so, helped out the defenders."

Juventus head into the game one point clear of second-placed Napoli, who dropped two potentially costly points in Monday's home draw against Milan, and 10 clear of fifth-placed Inter.

Roberto Mancini's side bounced back from defeat in Fiorentina with a 3-1 win over Sampdoria last week.

The win boosted Inter's hopes of clawing their way into third place and the final Champions League qualifying slot for next season, and they have been further boosted by the comments of top striker Mauro Icardi.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the San Siro but in an interview with the club's website this week he stressed his intention to stay with the club.

Icardi said: "I've had a few offers but I want to stay here and lift trophies with this club.

"I've been given this opportunity as captain and I'd love to become a club legend like (Javier) Zanetti. Anyone would want to enjoy the same success he had."
