Juve miss out on Brazilian Bastos

Juventus target Michel Bastos will not be sold this month, according to his current club side Lyon.

The 27-year-old versatile left-sided star has been linked with the Serie A side for much of the summer after scoring 15 times in 47 appearances for his club last term.

However a press release read: "Olympique Lyon would like to clarify that Brazilian international Michel Bastos will remain at our club and therefore there is no question of any transfer, contrary to some rumours.

"OL and coach Claude Puel are happy with his performances and his contribution to the success of the club in his first season with Lyon and for Brazil, with whom he played in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

"Bastos is part of the group of players in which OL wants to achieve a great season, both in French competitions and the Champions League."
