Giovinco out for rest of season

Juventus midfielder Sebastian Giovinco has been ruled out for the rest of the season after picking up a strain in his left thigh at the weekend.

He was injured in the 1-0 victory against Cagliari and it was confirmed on the club's official website that the 23-year-old will need a prolonged spell on the sidelines to recuperate.

A statement read: "Giovinco will need 40-45 days to recover, hence his season is over."

The Old Lady currently lie in sixth position in the Serie A table behind Sampdoria and fourth-placed Palermo, who hold the fourth Champions League qualification spot with five games remaining.
