Diego talks up Italy's chances

Juventus' Brazil star Diego is hoping for a dream World Cup Final meeting with Italy.

The 24-year-old playmaker moved to Serie A from the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen last summer and has been one of the few positives for the Turin club during a turbulent season so far.

Diego is expected to be named in coach Carlos Dunga's final 23-man squad for the tournament in South Africa and the former Santos and FC Porto midfielder would dearly love to face his adopted nation in the showpiece final.

"I can give so much to the Selecao and I want to be in South Africa," he declared. "Of course, Italy can boast some of the strongest players in the world.

"I am convinced they will achieve great results at the World Cup, perhaps finalists but with Brazil being the champions!"
