Juventus striker Amauri has been granted Italian citizenship after an official ceremony at the municipal offices in Turin, making him eligible to play for the Italian national team.
The Brazil-born star now offers Italy team coach Marcello Lippi a further attacking option ahead of the World Cup finals in South Africa this summer and he is ready to answer the call if it comes his way.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, he said: "I am very happy because today is the conclusion of a journey that started more than a year ago.
"I have always wanted to live this day. The other emotion is playing for the national team, but Lippi will think about this.
"I must focus on Juventus, and Lippi will make his choices. I am happy with the passport."
