Agent: Poulsen deal not close

The agent of Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen has confirmed that his client has opened discussions with Liverpool, but a transfer may take some time to materialise.

The Denmark international has been tipped to leave the Old Lady this summer and Joern Bonnesen has said new Reds boss Roy Hodgson wants to take his man to Merseyside, although a deal is not yet imminent.

"I don't know if we will reach an agreement," Bonnesen told Tipsbladet.

"I will go home without a contract and we will work from there. This is not something which will be resolved in two minutes."
