Giancarlo Abete was on Monday re-elected as president of the Italian football federation on a four-year mandate, winning 94.33 percent of the vote in which he was the sole candidate.

The 62-year-old Abete, who was first elected as federation head in 2007 and sealed a first re-election in 2009, said this tenure would be his last.

The Italian federation has 1.4 million members.
