Former Italy striker Christian Vieri had to go to hospital after being bitten on the nose by a former business associate on the Spanish island of Ibiza, his lawyer revealed on Friday.
"It was a reckless and inexplicable act," said Danilo Buongiorno, who added that there had been no dispute between the former partners.
Vieri has filed a complaint for assault.
The 38-year-old played for Italy's three biggest clubs -- Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan -- and scored 23 times for his country in 49 appearances.
