Buffon suffers ankle injury

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon suffered an ankle injury against AC Milan on Saturday night, making the 32 year-old a fitness concern for Italy less than a month before the World Cup.

Buffon left the field at half-time after picking up the injury in Juve's last match of the Serie A campaign, which the Turin side lost 3-0 at the San Siro.

It is still not known how serious a problem Buffon has, but the injury seems unlikely to put the keeper's participation in the World Cup at risk.

The Juventus keeper, a World Cup winner four years ago with Italy, has been capped 100 times by the Azzurri and is a key player for coach Marcello Lippi.
