    Goals no problem for Iran

    01 Jun 2006 - 11:56:54

Iran continued their preparations for the World Cup finals with a 5-2 victory in a friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday.

Branko Ivankovic's side made an appalling start to the game and were two down after just 17 minutes, with Zvjezdan Misimovic and Sergej Barbarez taking advantage of some poor defending to fire the Bosnians ahead.

However, Iran fought back to take a half-time lead thanks to goals from Mehrzad Madanchi, Rahman Rezaei and Vahid Hashemian.

The hosts never looked like surrendering their advantage after the break and made sure of victory when Reza Enayati and Rasoul Khatibi both netted in the final two minutes.

Iran get their World Cup campaign underway against Mexico on June 11 and will also take on Portugal and Angola in Group D.
