West Ham United have signed former Arsenal goalkeeper Richard Wright on a free transfer, following his release by Everton.
The 29-year-old was allowed to exit Goodison Park after five years with the Merseysiders and is hoping to re-launch his faltering career at Upton Park.
Wright made just 71 appearances for the Toffees, having joined the club for £3.5million in the summer of 2002 from Arsenal.
His previous stint at Highbury had yielded 18 appearances in a single season following a £6million switch from Ipswich Town.
Earlier on in his career, Wright made two appearances for England, but the last of those came back in August 2001 against the Netherlands.
Wright is the third new arrival this summer at Upton Park, following the signings of midfield duo Scott Parker and Julien Faubert from Newcastle United and Bordeaux respectively.
