Ipswich Town midfielder Gavin Williams is to undergo surgery next week to deal with a niggling groin injury.
The 26-year-old will be sidelined until the end of October as he recovers from the operation, but Town manager Jim Magilton is pleased with the scheduling.
"Gavin has been sore with the injury for a while now and the specialists say that he now needs an operation," Magilton told the club's official website.
"We have a two-week international break after Friday so we can take advantage of that and he will have surgery next week.
"He is suspended for the West Brom game (on October 14) anyway so at least he will miss far less games than he normally would.
"He's done great for us this season and we are hoping that he will be available for the game at Colchester, but we won't make a decision on that until we have a look at him in the morning."
