    Walters woe for Tractor Boys

    12 Mar 2009 - 12:36:58

Ipswich Town have received a major blow with the news that striker Jon Walters will not play again this season.

Scans have revealed the striker ruptured ankle ligaments during the midweek goalless draw with Wolves.

"The scan has shown that Jon has ruptured his ankle ligaments and unfortunately that means he won't play again this season," physio Matt Byard told the club's official website.

"The plan now is to take specialist advice to see the cause of action from here, but surgery is obviously a possibility.

"We will be guided by the specialist and also to Jon to see what the best way forward is in his recovery but I can see his rehab continuing into the summer."

Meanwhile, on-loan defender Moritz Volz will be out of action for around a month after discovering he requires surgery on a groin problem.
