Town wait on Nugent loan

Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton still hopes to bring injured Portsmouth striker David Nugent to Portman Road on loan next week. The former Preston North End forward recently recovered from a hernia operation but has sustained a minor abductor problem. Pompey have agreed to the switch, and Magilton told Town's official website: "Portsmouth have been great about it and said that David can come here until the end of the season. "David has an injury though at the moment and wants to get that right. So there will be two factors in his decisions, one - when he considers himself match-fit and two - whether he wants to come here or not. "I'm sure he'll review the situation over the weekend and then take it from there so I don't expect to him an answer until next week. "It's a statement of intent though that we have gone in for a player of his quality, a player we believe can help us get across the line." The 22-year-old has scored three goals in 16 appearances for Harry Redknapp's side following his summer switch from Preston.
