Town step up keeper search
03 Jul 2008 - 15:31:03
Ipswich Town boss Jim Magilton is stepping up his search for a new goalkeeper after deciding not to offer a permanent deal to Derby County shot-stopper Stephen Bywater.
The former West Ham gloveman spent a period on loan at Portman Road last term, but Magilton has set his sights elsewhere.
"It's been well-documented that we'd be interested in Richard (Wright), if he's available, but we've also enquired about other keepers," Magilton told the club's official website.
"It can be a slow process, bringing in players. It can be similar to moving house in that all the links in the chain have to be in place before things happen but we're moving in the right direction now.
"Patience isn't something that comes easily to me but the most important factor is that we get the right player at this club."
