Town seal deal for Civelli
28 Jan 2009 - 15:53:26
Ipswich Town have signed Argentine midfielder Luciano Civelli for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old left-sided player has joined the Tractor Boys from Argentinian side Banfield.
Civelli has put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at Portman Road until the summer of 2012.
The Buenos Aires-born midfielder impressed Town scouts during a trip to South America towards the end of last year.
Meanwhile, manager Jim Magilton is delighted with the current form of his side.
Speaking after Tuesday's 2-1 victory at Barnsley, he told the club's official website: "Going to Barnsley and getting three points is always tough so I'm delighted for the players.
"There is a great spirit in our dressing-room. I've always had belief in my players since day one and we're building up a bit of momentum now with three wins and a draw in four league games.
"We've got a massive match to come against Plymouth on Saturday and we want to keep that run going."
