Ipswich Town have wrapped up the signings of Sunderland pair Carlos Edwards and Grant Leadbitter for an undisclosed fee.

Trinidad & Tobago winger Edwards has signed a two-year contract at Portman Road, while Leadbitter has penned a three-year deal.

Town boss Roy Keane worked with both men during his time in charge at the Stadium of Light and had been hopeful of making additions to his squad before the transfer window slams shut.

He had earlier commented: "Realistically, I'd like to bring in four players before the deadline, but you don't always get what you want in life.

"There are certainly three positions that I would like to improve on, but at the moment it's a big if.

"It's maybe even four players, so it's going to be a busy few days."
