Town open contract talks
20 Apr 2007 - 10:44:08
Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton is poised to open contract talks with defenders Ian Miller and Fabian Wilnis.
Veteran Wilnis and youngster Miller are both out of contract in the summer and Magilton is keen to keep the pair at Portman Road.
Miller, 23, signed a one-year deal after arriving from Bury last summer, while Wilnis has been with the Tractor Boys since 1999.
"It's been Ian's first season as a professional and he has shown a great attitude and a willingness to learn, and he'll be rewarded accordingly," Magilton told the club's official website.
"Fabian has been fantastic over the last five or six weeks. It took a while for him to adjust from regarding me as a player to regarding me as a manager, but I think we're singing from the same hymn sheet now.
"We'll sit down with him and his agent and see where they are coming from, but I can't think of a better pro to have here."
