Ipswich Town boss Jim Magilton has targeted Malcolm Christie should he miss out on Francis Jeffers.
The Tractor Boys have had two bids for Jeffers rejected by Blackburn Rovers, but Magilton is still keen to land the injury-plagued hit-man after his impressive loan spell at Portman Road last season.
But should he fail to land the former Everton and Arsenal striker, then Magilton will turn his attention to Christie.
The former Derby County forward was released by Middlesbrough at the end of last season.
"Malcolm Christie is someone I've always liked and, if the Frannie deal doesn't come off then we'd be interested in bringing him to Portman Road," admitted Magilton.
