Town miss out on Norris

Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton has revealed that he has been rebuffed in his efforts to sign midfielder David Norris from Plymouth Argyle.

The 26-year-old has been with the Pilgrims for more than four years and Argyle boss Ian Holloway is in no mood to lose one of his star performers.

Magilton told the club's official website: "David Norris is a player that I've kept an eye on for a while.

"He's a proven performer at this level and I did speak to Ian Holloway about his situation.

"We went through the proper channels of communication, but Plymouth made it clear that he was not for sale, so that's the end of it for now."
