Ipswich Town have strengthened their attacking options with the capture of Jon Walters from Chester City.
Walters has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal at Portman Road and has targeted a return to the top-flight after coming through the ranks at Bolton Wanderers.
The 23-year-old becomes the Tractor Boys' fourth transfer window signings following the previous captures of David Wright, Gary Roberts and George O'Callaghan.
"It's been a hectic time. I got a phone call and expected it to be from Scunthorpe," he told the club's official website.
"There was talk that they had been in for me so I was surprised and delighted to hear that it was Ipswich.
"Looking around the place, it's a Premiership club and I know that is where (manager) Jim Magilton wants this club to be.
"I had a taste of the Premiership with Bolton and looking back on my time there I should have given it another year or so.
"I wanted to play regular first-team football though and moved on, but I have always believed I can get back to that level and hopefully I can do that with Ipswich."
