Town finally land Norris
31 Jan 2008 - 17:55:52
Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton has succeeded in his chase to sign Plymouth Argyle's highly-rated midfielder David Norris.
The 26-year-old former Bolton player has inked a contract that will keep him at Portman Road until the end of the 2010-11 campaign.
Town had two earlier bids for Norris rejected by Plymouth, but Magilton is pleased to have finally captured one of his January targets.
He told the club's official website: "I've watched David's career closely over the last few years and I'm delighted to have him here now.
"It's been well documented that we've been trying to get him to Portman Road and I can fully understand Plymouth's reluctance to let him leave.
"Good players are always in demand and David's a very good player. He has all the attributes to help take this club where we want it to be."
