Town extend John loan stay

Ipswich Town have extended the loan stay of Crystal Palace striker Stern John until the end of January.

The 33-year-old has failed to score in five outings for the Tractor Boys, but boss Roy Keane is pleased with the veteran's contribution.

He told The Gazette: "Stern's here for another month.

"He's been a good influence around the training ground and I don't think he's been involved in a game where we've lost yet, so he's definitely contributing.

"Obviously he'd like to score one or two goals, but he's doing a job for the team and I'm delighted with him."
